Our intent is to provide Deaf and Hard of Hearing children, ages 5-14, the opportunity to interact with like children in an environment where communication is not a problem through recreational activities. We strive to provide our campers with an environment that not only offers fun, positive recreational activities for the body and mind, but memories that will last forever.
All campers must meet the Mississippi State Department of Education requirements to receive services. Children ages 5-14 who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing or who have parents or siblings who are Deaf or Hard of hearing are eligible to participate.There are daily Deaf led ASL lessons to encourage total communication in the whole family.

Camp D.E.A.F. offers five days of recreational activities that promote good health, positive attitudes, and friendships that last a lifetime. Some of the activities may include

- Crafts
- Kayaking
- Bible Lessons
- Outdoor Games
- STEM activities
- Field Trips
Counselor in Training
Teens ages 15-17, who are Deaf or are interested in developing their ASL skills, are invited to be a Counselor in Training.
Volunteer at Camp D.E.A.F.
Our counselors are dedicated and experienced in American Sign Language. They include the staff and board members from de l’ Epee Deaf Center, Interpreting students from MGCCC, ASL students from USM and Deaf leaders in the community. Each volunteer is required to take training in child safety and are committed to ensuring these children have a meaningful and safe week.
