MS Lions Deaf Camp

  We provide Deaf and Hard of Hearing children, ages 5—14, from across the State of Mississippi, the opportunity to interact with like children in an environment where communication is not a problem through recreational activities.  We strive to provide our campers with an environment that not only offers fun, positive recreational activities for the body and mind, but memories that will last forever.   

Children ages 5-14, who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing or who have parents or siblings who are Deaf or Hard of hearing are eligible to participate. 

Mississippi Lions accepts applications regardless of race, color, religion, sex or national origin for participation. 

  

Mississippi Lions Deaf Camp offers a weekend of recreational activities that promote good health, positive attitudes, and friendships that last a lifetime. Some of the activities may include:

Wii Games

Swimming

Crafts

Outdoor Fun

Field Trips

Held at Camp Wilkes

Volunteer at MS Lions Deaf Camp

 Our counselors are dedicated and most are experienced in American Sign Language. They include the staff from de l’ Epee Deaf Center, Lions Members from across Mississippi, Interpreting students from MGCCC, USM and Deaf leaders in the community. Each volunteer is required to complete child safety training and is committed to ensuring these children have a meaningful and safe week.
